Instructions

Bread-maker
1. Place all ingredients in bread maker pan.
2. Set setting on 2 pound loaf, whole wheat, light crust.
3. Bake & enjoy (takes about 3 hours & 20 minutes).

Oven
1. In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups flour, salt, & undissolved yeast.
2. In microwave, warm water, canola oil, & honey until lukewarm - stir into dry ingredients along with egg & blend well.
3. Mix in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough that begins to come away from sides of the bowl & can be handled.
4. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface & use the remaining 1/2 cup flour.
5. Knead until smooth & elastic, about 5-8 minutes.
6. Cover, let rest on floured surface for 10 minutes.
7. Roll or stretch & pat dough to 12 x 8" rectangle.
8. Roll up from short side as for jelly roll - pinch seam & ends to seal.
9. Place seam side down in greased 9 x 5" loaf pan - cover & let rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled in size (about 30-45
minutes).
10. Preheat oven to 350°F.
11. Bake for 40 minutes or until done - remove from pan to wire rack to cool.
12. Cut into 10 thick slices & then cut each slice in half.

Notes

**Use High Protein Hard Red Spring 100% Whole Wheat Flour (does not require additional gluten)
**1 cup water = 8 oz
**Each additional oz = 2 tablespoons
